Our Journey
Call it a passion or a calling; either way, David Pyle, owner and operator at Pocantico Jersey Farm and Creamery, was born to be a farmer. Born and raised in Vermont on his family’s dairy farm, David was shown at an early age the important role farmers play in animal husbandry and high-quality food production. David’s grandmother Edith shared the same passion for farming as David. Edith’s career started at the Rockefeller Estate in Pocantico Hills, NY, where she oversaw the stables. Eventually, Edith and her husband, Walter, relocated to Vermont and started Pocantico Registered Jersey Dairy - family-owned and operated. David was blessed to work alongside his grandmother and father, Walter Pyle Jr., who both instilled the values and philosophies that David farms with today.
Many roads led David to where he is today, operating his own 800 cow dairy farm along with his 25 Angus beef cattle herd, but the road began back in Vermont on the original Pocantico Jersey Farm.
